Sarah was born with moderate severe bilateral clubfeet and started treatment at a local hospital at five days old. After 3 months of traditional casting and treatment she was headed for clubfoot surgery at around 10 or 11 months of age. We found the Ponseti Method on the internet while searching for more information on clubfoot. We contacted Dr. Ponseti at the University of Iowa thanks to the letters and testimonials from the parents on his clubfoot site and went to Iowa to have our Sarah treated. Although she was already 5 months old, after 6 Ponseti casts and a tenotomy her feet are beautifully corrected and we hope and pray that they remain that way forever! |
