Sarah was born with clubfoot as a symptom of distal arthrogryposis. She has an older sister who was also born with distal arthrogryposis and clubfoot. Her sister underwent traditional (non-Ponseti) casting sessions and had surgery when she was nine months old to successfully correct her clubfoot. Sarah's clubfoot was treated with the Ponseti Method by Dr. David Godfried at Texas Tech University. After successful casting sessions, Sarah had a tenotomy at 8 weeks old. |
